According to a Buzzfeed report, Mark Zuckerberg CEO of facebook owns a secret TIKTOK account. the account has 4000 followers and 0 posts. It is confirmed that Mark Zuckerberg's unverified account @finkd was indeed linked to his verified Instagram account.
Even though Mark Zuckerberg hasn't posted any videos he as more than 4000 followers and follows 61 users, Which include celebrities like Ariana Grande and Shaq. He also follows TIKTOK superstars like Loren Gray and Jacob Sartorius who have verified profiles.
Ttiktok, in which users can create and post short videos competes with facebook, In fact in India TIKTOK has crossed facebook which was admitted by Mark Zuckerberg himself. He says the app is doing well in the US also.
In India, TIKTOk has around 120 million users per month compared to an approx of 70 million users on Instagram per month in India.
He compared TikTok to the Explore Tab on Instagram and said it was like “Explore for stories, and that was the whole app.” Zuckerberg had said that “we have time to learn and understand and get ahead of the trend,” when it comes to TikTok, which might explain why he has a secret account on a platform that competes so closely with Instagram.
TikTok was formed after Chinese tech giant ByteDance bought lip-sync app Musical.ly in 2017 in a deal worth $800 million and merged it with its existing short-form video app Doyin. The Buzzfeed report goes on to say that in 2016, Zuckerberg entered talks with the lip-sync app Musical.ly co-founder Alex Zhu to acquire the app, though a deal did not materialize.
