The new Motorola Razr brings a retro design while looking futuristic.
Motorola just revived the Razr phone with a brand new take on it, and it looks good. The company has brought back the iconic flip phone, and this time it comes with a foldable display.
The phone also has a tiny display upfront that’s good for taking selfies and skipping tracks. But, it seems like nostalgia is expensive. Motorola wants you to pay $1,499 to take a trip to nostalgia land with the Razr. Apart from the foldable display and the rather cool form factor, the Razr has barely anything else that would justify the price tag. It is powered by a Snapdragon 710 and has a 16MP camera, and quite surprisingly, is also splash-proof. But, that's not enough. The new Motorola Razr not only brings back the retro design but also makes it look futuristic at the same time. And yes, it will launch in India soon.
Now, many will be wondering just how different the Motorola Razr is to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, which is another foldable phone that launched in India recently. The Galaxy Fold is Samsung's first foldable phone that also offers a flexible display. But Samsung's approach to the foldable smartphone is different to what Motorola has done. So, here's what you need to know.
Motorola Razr vs Galaxy Fold: Design
Motorola and Samsung have taken two very different approaches to what a foldable phone should look like. The Galaxy Fold offers a large 7.3-inch AMOLED display that folds up like a book. So the Fold's form factor is vertically longer compared to the Razr. Samsung's idea is to offer a smartphone-cum-tablet experience with a large display inside and a smaller 4.6-inch screen on the cover.
Meanwhile, the Motorola Razr sticks to the same flip phone design of the iconic Razr. When folded, the Razr is a small pocketable size with a tiny 2.8-inch display on the cover. When flipped open, the Razr sports a 6.2-inch flexible pOLED screen that's about the size of a regular smartphone.
